Ants

I just got in this evening and found that two drawers and a cupboard in my desk have been infested with ants, they are the big black ones, not the biting type thankfully.

It was only yesterday that I cleaned the drawers and cupboard so I assume they must of arrived overnight or during today. There was certainly a lot of them. I had lined the drawers and shelves with newspaper so I just lifted out the paper with what seems liked half a kilo of ants on each piece of paper. Then the Mrs used the broom to sweep them out, there were ants everywhere, the floor was a seething black mass. We managed to get most of them out the door but there still seems to be a lot of them kicking about here and there. There are also a lot of them hanging around the front door. I hope they are not looking for revenge ! :unsure: :unsure:

I would be grateful for any solutions about how to get rid of the rest of these ants and also any ideas about how to stop this reoccurring. Ideally I would like to persuade the ants to leave instead of committing mass ant murder.
