| Now I've heard that this is a fairly popular time to travel - well it makes sense, it's not hot as hell, I guess the start of the high season, making train travel difficult to secure in advance from outside of India. And I'm resigned to having to wing it when we finally arrive in October - we have some experiance winging it in India but you always want certainty - especially in India where certainty is the BIG UNCERTAINTY if you know what I mean! So I have a few questions and I'll have to do that on a number of different forums - but in terms of Rajasthan specifically - With three months to go our itinerary looks kind of like this - after a week in Amritsar and Himichal... Delhi/Jaipur/Pushkar/Jodhpur/Udaipur/Chittor/Bundi/Jaipur/Agra hiring a car and driver for the Jaipur to Jaipur leg is possible. We would love to use trains - but realise it's going to be tough to secure tickets. How far in advance does "book in advance" mean? Doing a circut of Rajasthan beginning and ending in Jaipur taking at least two weeks - is it going to be expensive to hire a car and driver? What's a good amount of days in each of these cities? Is hiring a car a good idea if we want to spend more than a couple of days in any one town? I've seen a 16 day tour advertised for 55,000rs - but that's a little out of our price range what is a decent daily rate 1500rs? Do travel agents book cars and drivers or can you get info through hotels etc? thanks in advance for you suggestions/help bigjed Affordable with Great Features - China Mobiles & Gadgets- Buy Here.
