I dont want to live like a monk...!

Hi all

I might move to Pune sometime later this year to attend school there. While this is great in and of itself, I'm somewhat worried about the prospects of my love life during my stay. From what I know about India based on my travels and from reading the posts that touch on the subject in this and other forums, I get the impression that a Caucasian guy will have a hard time dating Indian girls while staying in India.

I'd love to have some input on this from people who've actually been there and done that. Is it really that hard for a white guy to meet an Indian girl in Pune, or Mumbai for that matter? What about the expat community? While I would love to date an Indian girl, ultimately I'm an equal opportunity dater... :)

The whole issue is really troubling me. I can't imagine living in India without a girl at my side. At this point i'm considering scrapping the whole idea of moving there. The issue is freaking me out that much... :(

Here's some more info on where I'm coming from with this question: I'm looking for *a* girl to date - a girlfriend. I'm not looking for flings left and right. On a related note, I'm not into pay-for sex... just not my thing.

It'd be great to get some input on this. hopefully I've a skewed perspective of the situation?
